Providing legal assistance to students facing antisemitism on campus: Italy

FACING ANTISEMITISM ON CAMPUS? You are not alone!

The International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (IJL), B’nai B’rith International, and the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) partner to support students facing antisemitism on campus in Europe, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

IJL’s Legal Center for Combating Antisemitism offers its support in exploring legal remedies tailored to your situation—at the university level, with judicial authorities, or through other legal avenues.

The following is an update on one of the cases:  a significant complaint was received from students at one of Italy’s leading universities concerning inciting activity and the fostering of a climate of hostility against and insecurity among Jewish students in general and Israelis in particular.

We’ve engaged a dedicated local lawyer to tackle this issue on multiple fronts.

Our objective is to implement appropriate measures against those responsible for creating an environment where Jewish and Israeli students experience a sense of threat on campus.

Furthermore, we’re actively gathering information on similar occurrences across other universities. This includes tracking events featuring speakers with a history of terrorism, such as Leila Khaled.

If you’ve faced an antisemitic incident, contact us at campus@bnaibrith.org or info@wujs.org

provide a summary of the incident and the country and specific university campus involved.
