32 No. 74 JUSTICE American colleges and universities are trending towards the institutionalization of anti-discrimination efforts akin to gender-based compliance programs, which would be groundbreaking. While the jurisprudence is evolving, the outcomes of these cases and settlements have already meaningfully moved the needle in the direction of greater protections for Jewish and Israeli students on American campuses, and these results – as well as the results of currently pending cases – will continue to influence university policies and the realities on the ground going forward. n Akiva Shapiro is a partner in the New York office of Gibson Dunn, where he is Chair of the Firm’s New York Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice Group, Co-Chair of its Religious Liberty Working Group, Co-Chair of its Sabbath Observant Affinity Group, and a member of its Constitutional and Appellate Litigation practice group, among others.
