JUSTICE - No. 71

28 No. 71 JUSTICE The antisemitism of Hamas reflects the antisemitism of the Iranian government, the principal supplier of arms and support for Hamas. Former Supreme Leader of Iran Ruhollah Khomeini, wrote “may God curse them [the Jews],” for they “are opposed to the very foundations of Islam and wish to establish Jewish domination.” Former Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad stated: “It has now been some 400 years that a horrendous Zionist clan has been ruling the major world affairs, and behind the scenes of the major power circles, in political, media, monetary and banking organizations in the world, they have been the decision makers” Velayat-e Faqih: Hukumat-e Eslami (The governance of the jurist: Islamic government). Throughout the world, Iranian academics have appeared on TV to offer detailed explanations about how Jewish rabbis in Europe used to kill Christian children and take their blood for use during the Passover holidays. Iran’s vice-president Mohammad-Reza Rahimi accused the Zionists of controlling the global drug trade based on the teachings of the Talmud. He further told stories of gynecologists killing black babies on the orders of the Zionists and claimed that the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917 was started by Jews, adding that mysteriously no Jews died in that uprising. Mohammad-Ali Ramin, official advisor to President Ahmadinejad wrote that “the resolution” of the Holocaust issue would end in the “destruction of Israel.” Lireza Panahian, cofounder of the Ammar think tank for Iran's universities stated on November 20, 2023, “A time will come when the Zionist regime will be wiped off the face of the earth.” Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Deputy Commander Ali Fadavi declared “the shock that the resistance forces' strike caused to the Zionists will remain until this cancerous growth disappears from the map of the world.” It is noteworthy that Iran was the only country to vote against UN Resolution 61/255 concerning Holocaust denial. This Hamas ideology explains the motive behind the attack of October 7. David Grossman, a leading Israeli writer and a vehement opponent of the present Israeli government wrote in the New York Times: Israel is the one country in the world whose elimination is most openly called for. Only when it comes to Israel is it acceptable to publicly demand the elimination of a state. It is sickening to think that this murderous hatred is directed solely at a people who less than a century ago were, in fact, almost eradicated. The individual members of Hamas can be tried by any State, in accordance with the principle of “Universal Jurisdiction.” Hamas acted to commit Genocide and intended to commit Genocide; the world should not ignore it. n
